Located near Magic Kingdom in the heart of Walt Disney World is Disney’s Wilderness Lodge.
Inspired by the National Park Lodges of the American Northwest, you will be transported from Central Florida to a picturesque wilderness setting, complete with geysers, majestic pine forests, and warm and inviting decor.
Excellent dining, fun family activities, and plenty of amenities at this deluxe resort are only topped by the outstanding service you come to expect from Walt Disney World.
Noted for its architectural splendor that brings to mind early 20th century American wilderness lodges in the National parks, the rustic decor at the Wilderness Lodge is authentic and highly detailed without going over the top.
From the warm and inviting wood-adorned lobby, complete with a giant roaring fireplace, to the comfortable guest rooms that are cozy and comfortably decorated with rich woods and earthy Native American touches, you will forget that you are in the middle of Florida.
The resort is not the largest on the property, but still impressive with 727 guest rooms. Yet, you feel as if you are staying at a cozy mountain retreat.
Standard rooms are available with views of the woods or the courtyard, and include queen beds and/or rooms with bunk beds, which make it easy to share a room with the kids.
The onsite restaurant, Artist Point, is one of the
most highly rated dining experiences on Disney property. This upscale restaurant offers a menu inspired by the Pacific Northwest, and features lovely waterfront views. The Whispering Canyon Cafe is another fine dining option at the Lodge. There is plenty of fun and entertainment, along with a very family-friendly menu.
As with all Disney resorts, there is a food court area, the Roaring Fork in this case, that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. This is a perfect option for grabbing a quick meal before hitting the parks, or having a fast dinner before heading out to see the nightly fireworks.
Surrounded by Bay Lake, the Wilderness Lodge has beautiful waterfront views that can be enjoyed from many vantage points on the property. Rent a paddle boat or a sailboat for a fun activity. There are also two fun pools, one complete with a wandering stream and water slide.
The kids can enjoy the Cub’s Den, a child care facility that offer fun activities, games, and even meals so parents can enjoy a little grown-up time. Rent bikes and tour the beautiful resort grounds, go fishing in Bay Lake, or go for a jog on the grounds.
Kids will love the nightly marshmallow roast, the Movies Under the Stars, the arcade, and the playground.
Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is a unique and beautiful Disney resort, a place to relax and have fun during your trip to Walt Disney World!
